We’re incredibly excited to announce the official launch of a strategic collaboration between three sister projects: PRIMARY, EMBEDED, and HarWASTing!
Funded under the same Horizon Europe call, we are joining forces and maximising efforts while working on the same challenge: to transform agricultural feedstock and agroforestry waste into valuable resources, with the goal of creating new economic opportunities for rural communities.
The first collaborative meeting of the three sister projects was held on the 8th of October to align strategies, identify collaboration opportunities, and establish a common workflow, to structure the path for a European circular future.
A Trio Focused on Zero Waste and High Value:
This partnership creates a powerful synergy across the biomass value chain:
- PRIMARY: Develops local, sustainable solutions to upcycle underutilised agricultural biomass into high-value products like food and feed ingredients, bio-based materials for packaging and construction, biofuels, and fertilizers.
- EMBEDED: Focuses on creating high-value biochar and sustainable particle boards from agrifood residues, as well as biofertilisers and bioactive compounds for health and cosmetics, contributing to climate neutrality and rural resilience.
- HarWASTing: Uses cutting-edge processes to transform agroforestry waste into hydrochar for specialized high-performance materials, including fire-resistant panels and electromagnetic shielding.
What will we do together?
- Share Pilot Learnings: Present initial data and outcomes from each project’s pilot activities;
- Exchange Practical Experiences: Discuss real-world challenges, solutions, and hands-on lessons learned from the developments;
- Ensure Connected Development: Maintain ongoing communication to prevent redundancy and foster a teamwork synergetic approach;
- Learn Collectively: Openly review successes and challenges to accelerate effective solution development.
This cooperation comes from a similar fundamental goal: implementing innovative business models and technologies to ensure that no waste is wasted!
